The weekend was good for the Tigers! Pulling out another conference win against Miss. St. never hurts; however, the remainder of the schedule looks tough with a game at gainesville and home games against georgia and alabama. If they are going to represent the SEC West, then they must win against alabama. The arkansas game shouldn’t be the test this year that it usually proves to be, seeing as how arkansas fans would do themselves a favor in cheering for arkansas st. :o ) Geaux Tigers!

Wedding planning is really a funny thing from the groom’s perspective. It really amounts to finding out what the bride wants and making that happen by agreeing to it. I have been blessed with a fiancee that has known for sometime what she wanted her wedding to be like, as most do. I have been presented with two different ideas for one thing and asked to give an opinion — this is the part where my heart pounds and I begin to sweat, because the last thing I want is to mess up her plan that you and I both know she has already figured out. So far, mission successful, but keep me in your prayers. Patricia has been a wonderful planner, no bridezilla here. She has been nothing but precious through all of this! I appreciate all that she does! I cannot wait to marry you, sweetie! Bring on a lifetime relationship with God’s gift to me!

Coming up in Obsession–Relationships!

Patricia and I are about to embark on a study on relationships for the teenagers at Obsession on Wednesday’s. We are going to tag-team preach/teach on relationships from both the guy’s and girl’s perspective. It starts this wednesday (Oct. 1) with a message titled, “Boy Meets Girl.” We will discuss the things that guys do to attract/pursue girls and vice versa. Come check it out, you will be blessed!

Until next time,

kyle

Welcome!

September 23, 2008

I am Kyle Jones and I am the youth pastor at Immanuel Baptist Church in Magnolia, AR. I was called to ministry at the age of 12; however, I did not fully surrender until I was 20 years old. I am 22 now and I have been serving as youth pastor at Immanuel for a little over a year and a half. I must say that ministry is extremely difficult at times, but it is the most rewarding thing that I have ever been a part of. I absolutely love the Lord and look forward to many years of promoting His gospel!

I am engaged and will be married on December 6th of this year to a wonderful lady that the Lord placed in my life, Patricia. She is not only wonderful, she is also beautiful. She always says that she is my biggest fan, but fans just watch as the game goes on, Patricia is constantly looking for ways to serve and impact the teens that we minister to each week. She truly has a servant’s heart and loves the Lord with all she has within her. Our life in ministry will be a road of hardships, but more importantly, we look forward to the blessings of being in ministry!

One last thing you need to know about me — I am a huge LSU Tigers fan! GEAUX TIGERS!!

I want to leave you with a word of encouragement — Ephesians 1:4-5 says, “Even before He made the world, God loves us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in His eyes. God decided in advance to adopt us into His own family by bringing us to Himself through Jesus Christ. This is what He wanted to do, and it gave Him great pleasure.”

–> The Lord has chosen you to be a part of His great plan! The bible tells us that He has a plan for us; to give us a “hope and a future.” Wherever you are right now in your life, ask yourself this, “am I walking God’s plan for my life?” If you aren’t, then you are walking in your own, which is sure destruction. Keep it about Christ, the rest is just details.

Talk to ya soon,

kyle
